We first worked with Andrew from Cameron Tools whilst collaborating on a project with one of our existing clients. It was great that he was so impressed with our work that he contacted us to help him create the branding for his new business.

We had a fairly open brief, with the need for a modern logo that would suit his broadly aged target market of tradespeople and home handymen, that appreciate Australian made and quality tools. After researching his competition we created an icon based on the shape of a nut (to be used with a spanner) for the C, with the slanted grey T representing a hammer from his range of available tools. The monochromatic orange colour scheme of the C contrasts well with the greys in the T and text, with the font certainly at home for the targeted industries. Due to the potential various uses for a logo nowadays, its always important to have an adaptable option within your brand. In this case a centred logo with the icon above the text is a strong option, or the icon placed to the left of the text, as pictured in the first displayed version, also works well whilst still being clearly the same brand.

We then continued this modern style in creating his business card design, utilising the contrasting dark grey for the rear listings of his suppliers, for which we used organised columns to clearly display a lot of information, including star icons to display whether the tools were either Australian or European manufactured.

We continue the business card look when we also created some branding decals for his brochure distribution and a holding graphic whilst their website was being completed.

We have also created an eight page document, intended to be the backbone of presentations to potential clientele, which showcases the brands and tools that Cameron Tools offer. Using a thicker card stock during production resulted in a feeling of quality, which matches the standard of tools they supply.
